BASIC GUIDE FOR YOUR FIRST EAR PIERCING

When you are about to get your first piercing for piercings, it is normal that you have a thousand doubts about it, since nobody explains to us what we must take into account to do it correctly.

You can't imagine the number of girls who write to us every day saying they love our piercings but can't wear them because the 1st time they got pierced with a really skinny needle and now they can only wear super skinny piercings or gold studs.

We invite you to read the following guide before having your 1st piercing done.

1.- Decide in which part of the ear you want to have the piercing done and proceed to look for a professional studio in your city where they do it, make sure they have all the hygiene measures.

2.- When you contact the studio, ask what thickness of the post they recommend for the part you choose, for example, for cartilage, the most appropriate thing is to be pierced with a thickness of 1.2mm since it heals better.

3.- If the studio does not know how to guide you on the thickness and length of the post, we do not recommend drilling there, and even less so if they offer to pierce some part of the cartilage with gold studs, since these are very thin and in the future you will only be able to use this measure, which limits you a lot in the pieces that you can acquire and the healing process is slower.

4.- On the day of your appointment, make sure your piercer tells you how long the post is going to be placed on you (this depends on how big and thick our ear is) and it varies from person to person.

5.- In the 1st piercing they will place a post a little longer than normal (minimum 8mm), this is to give your little ear a chance to swell and go through its entire healing process without problem, make sure you feel comfortable with that long, in no case should it be tight as there is a risk of ingrown.

6.- We recommend you use a small piece for the first time, so it will not be bothersome at the time of healing and that the closure of it is also a ball or labret (flat) for greater comfort when sleeping. Under no circumstances use hoops for the first time. You can use these.

7.- The optimal material to get pierced for the first time and that is almost 100% certain that it will not cause any type of allergy is implant-grade titanium, since it is a highly hypoallergenic material of excellent quality. You can also use surgical grade stainless steel.

8.- Finally, be very patient and follow the piercer's recommendations so that your piercing heals quickly and well. Each piercing has different healing times, don't despair.

Tip: Before getting pierced, ask what they do it with, we do not recommend piercing yourself with a gun, it is better to do it with a needle.

If you have any questions about this, do not hesitate to contact us, we will gladly help you.
